Golf de Lannemezan – just 10 minutes up the road from Le Turounet and a lovely location. Set in 40 hectares of parkland, next to the hippodrome, the narrow, tree-lined fairways provide a stiff challenge and although the course is flat, it is hard not to be distracted by the spectacular views of the Pyrenees mountains in the near distance. There is a driving range and separate putting green while the club house has a nice bar and very good restaurant.

Pau Golf Club – some distance away but worthy of mention for being the oldest golf club in mainland Europe. Founded in 1856 but originally started by Scottish soldiers following their battle with Napoleon in 1814. It is situated along the banks of the Gave de Pau on the outskirts of the city. It is a short, flat and relatively open course but is up to 50% more expensive to play than any of the others, probably due to its historic interest.
